Frenergy News
July
2008
Its
been quite a time since we have updated this news page,
not because we have had no news, but because we have been
so busy!
We
are getting ever growing demand for our solar hot water
systems, this shows that the general population are really
starting to change their ideas on how we produce and use
energy. It also reflects on the current trend of price increases
for conventional energy sources. There really is no better
time to install solar water heating.
Just yesterday(30/07/08) British gas announced another increase
in their gas and electricity costs, not an inflationary
rise either, 9% on to their electricity prices and a whopping
35% increase to their gas prices. This increase alone
will greatly reduce the payback time of a solar system,
but this is only one increase of many that has taken place
this year and probably wont be the last. Solar hot water
systems have been good financial investments for some years
now, but it seems every week, or month, they become even
more beneficial to their owners, with quicker and greater
returns.
If you are considering installing a solar
hot water system, dwell on it no longer, GET IT INSTALLED!!
We offer a flexible service from full installation,
design and supply, or simply material sales. We also offer
some of the best prices in the country.
Remember we are a small Northampton based company, serving
Northamptonshire, we dont have a sales force to support,
we intentionally keep things very small. This allows us
to offer the best prices as our overheads are very low and
it also means we can offer a very personal service.

Frenergy are now a member
of the Solar Trade Association, We have spent several months
going through the application process.
The Solar Trade Association
operate a code of conduct for installers which offers a
peace of mind guarantee for consumers that members of this
association are bound by quality guidelines.
This doesn't actually
change the way we operate as we are 100% focused on customer
satisfaction and we install systems to a very standard anyway,
however it does offer peace of mind to new customers who
don't yet know us.
If you would like to know
more about the solar trade association, click on the logo
on the right to navigate to their website.

Frenergy
have returned from a weekend exhibiting at the Spratton
Folk Festival.
Weather
was appalling on the Friday, but improved on Saturday and
allowed us to give demonstrations of our solar products.
We also had our wind turbine on demonstration.
Over the weekend
we had lighting, mains powered laptops, a fridge and two
control systems for solar water heating all being powered
by renewable energy without any need for a mains connection.
Our solar water
heating demonstrations included two fully working systems,
one fitted to the trailer supplying hot water to a small
sink within the trailer. Another portable system was demonstrated
which included a full size panel with all the plumbing and
control system installed in a flight case. Both systems
heated water in excess of 60°C on a sporadically sunny
Saturday.
We also had various
solar PV (electric) panels generating energy. Some to power
the solar water heating system's control equipment, with
others supplying lighting and power. In total we supplied
all our needs with just 260w of solar panels and a few batteries.
Also attached
to the trailer, was our 1KW wind turbine, this is a Futurenergy
turbine which was used during the weekend to power some
lighting within the trailer. Output was restricted during
the show due to the turbine being at a very low height and
lots of obstacles near to the turbine causing turbulent
air flow, however very usable power was generated frequently
during the two days.
We would like
to thank all those that took the time to come and see us
and would urge you to pursue your desires to become greener.
Why not call
us to talk further about what we can offer you.

Frenergy
recently attended the World Environment day exhibition held
at Northampton borough council's Guildhall building.
We
were displaying our range of solar thermal, solar PV and
wind turbine products.
We
had a great day and got talking to many fascinating people,
turnout was surprisingly high and interest in environmentally
friendly technology seems to be growing at a very fast rate!
If
you came along and saw us, we would like to thank you for
your valuable time, if there is anything we can offer further,
we would be very pleased to hear from you.

Frenergy
have recently completed a BPEC certification scheme, BPEC
are a national government recognised training provider.
their certification is required for any installer wishing
to be government recognised and to be able to enter the
grants scheme.
This investment is part
of our on-going plan to constantly evolve with the industry,
with technology and with our own personal skills.

After
an exhaustive search spanning an entire year, we have now
sourced a wind turbine manufacturer that has both the product
and the attitude that gives us confidence to partner. Futurenergy
currently manufacture only one turbine product but have
many others in development, so it should prove an exciting
year for them and us!
The
Futurenergy 1KW upwind turbine is a stunning piece of engineering
and is a credit to the skills of their manufacturing staff.
Installed in the right location, this turbine can generate
up to 1kw of electricity that can be used for low voltage
or grid tie applications.
The turbine is available in various specifications, for
more information please see our Wind
Turbine Page

We were
recently asked to assist with a project for a main-stream
television programme. Our part in this project, was the
installation
of a solar thermal panel in Overstone, Northampton.
We attended the site in mid December along with the presenter
Dick Strawbridge and a film crew to carryout the installation.
The day went very well ending with a working system fitted
to the 100+ year old house.
Watch
out for our appearance on television soon!! |
